EXAMPLES OF MOVABLE AND IMMOVABLE TANGIBLES
MOVABLE TANGIBLE
• The origin of the bulul wooden figures can be traced to the
story of Namtogan. Although bululs are now produced and sold
as a variety of souvenir items or decorative art, it is a
fundamental part of Ifugao culture. Bulul plays an important
role in the agriculture of the Ifugao people.

• This piece was carved from one piece of

adobe. Rendered in cubist form, it shows a
female figure in a sitting position, admiring
her infant while he clings on her head. We
take pride in this sculpture as it is one of the
few created in adobe by Napoleon V. Abueva
who is known to many as the Father of
"Mother and Child" by Napoleon Modern Philippine Sculpture.

1786 by Spanish Augustinian missionaries and was declared as part of the
UNESCO World Heritage Site “Baroque Churches of the Philippines” in 1993.
On the front facade, which is flanked by two watchtower belfries, one can
see the unique blending of Spanish and native influences.

• Rizal Monument (original title: Motto Stella;

Latin: "guiding star") is a memorial in Rizal Park
in Manila, Philippines built to commemorate the
executed Filipino nationalist, José Rizal. The
monument consists of a standing bronze
sculpture of Rizal, with an obelisk, set on a stone
base within which his remains are interred,
holding his 2 famous novels "El Filibusterismo
and Noli Me Tangere". A plaque on the pedestal's
front reads: "To the memory of José Rizal, patriot
and martyr, executed on Bagumbayan Field
December Thirtieth 1896. This monument is
