WHAT ARE THOSE 10 DIFFERENT TYPES OF LATHE ATTACHMENTS
AND ACCESSORIES AND THEIR USES?
Sleeve - Holds boring bars, threading
bars, and drills. Coolant forced from
the face of the sleeve allows positive
coolant contact with the cutting edge
at all times.
Dead Center - used to support the
workpiece at either the fixed or
rotating end of the machine.
Live Center - used to hold or support
a workpiece in a lathe or other
machine tools, often between the
headstock and tailstock
Lathe Dog - a device that clamps
around the workpiece and allows the
rotary motion of the machine's
spindle to be transmitted to the
workpiece
Revolving Center - also known as a
rotating center or running center in
some countries, is constructed so that
the 60° center runs in its own bearings
and is used at the non-driven or
tailstock end of a machine.
3 Universal Chuck - The 3 jaws,
which are generally made of high
quality steel, are arrogated at an angle
of 120° to each other. During the
operation, the jaw teeth are made to
mesh with scrawl spiral teeth (Bevel’s
teeth).
4 Independent Chuck - This offers
significant advantages. You can use a
4 Jaw chuck lathe to safely hold
square, hexagonal, wound, and
irregular-shaped workpieces, with the
independent movement of the jaws
enabling accurate adjustment.
Face Plate - a circular metal plate
used for holding workpieces in a
lathe. When the workpiece is clamped
to the faceplate of the lathe, turning
can begin.
Angle Plate - are used to hold Rest - consists of a frame and three
workpieces square to the table during adjustable jaws which support the
marking out operations work,
WHY DOES THESE TOOLS SO IMPORTANT?

Many lathe operators simply use their hands when sanding, polishing, or
deburring rotating parts, which can create a dangerous entanglement
hazard. Metal lathe accessories, such as a sanding belt holder or polishing
attachments, can help your lathe operators avoid unnecessary risk and
maximize productivity.
