EXPRESSIONS
Addition and Subtraction
At the end of the lesson, you are
expected to:
 Identify similar radical expressions.
OBJECTIVES:  Perform addition and subtraction of
radical expressions.
 Investigate through inquiry the parts
of the lesson that they find difficult.
 Using the cards provided, each group will arrange 3 similar radical
expressions together by putting them in a straight horizontal line
using the tape and manila paper provided.

Activity  The group will arrange similar radical expressions in groups of 3’s
as many as they can in 1 minute.
 The greatest number of correct groupings will be the winner.
 Radical expressions can be
combined by addition and
subtraction if they are similar.

radicals having the same radicands.

them to its simplest form.
