Geopipes
• Geopipes are perforated or solid-wall
polymeric pipes used for drainage of
liquids or gas.
• They are employed in various
geotechnical, transportation, and
environmental
engineering applications.
• The main function of Geopipes is
Drainage.
4
Examples of use of Geopipes
• Subsoil Drainage for Roads
• Drainage in Residential and
Commercial Constructions
• Drainage in Mining
• Agricultural Lands
• Building Foundations
• Retaining Walls
• Construction Sites
• Sport and Recreational
Fields
5
Properties of Geopipes
• Made up of polymer such as
Polyester (PET), Polyamide (PM),
Polypropylene (PP), and
Polyethylene (PE)
• From 20 mm to 160 mm you are
able to find any size of geopipes
according to your needs.
• Very light weight
• Strong material strength

History of Geopipes
Polyvenyl chlorides found on the mid
nineteenth century
Attempt to commercialize PVC items
Faster and flexible processing of PVC
made possible by adding various
additives
Karl Ziegler awarded Nobel prize in
chemistry on his research that put light Fig: Karl Ziegler
on intricate properties of PVC in 1963
