EFFECT
Kalimat cause and effect (sebab akibat) merupakan
sebuah kalimat yang di dalamnya mengandung
setidaknya satu sebab dan satu akibat. Kita sering
menggunakan kata penghubung (linking words) untuk
menyatakan hubungan sebab akibat.
RUMUS 1
Connector + Cause, + Effect
connerctor: due to, owing to, because of, as a result of, as a consequence of  
Example :
● Due to the rain, we cannot go to the beach. (Karena hujan kita tidak bisa pergi ke
pantai)
● Owing to her optimism, Sarah finally succeeds in the competition (Karena
optimismenya, Sarah akhirnya memenangkan pertandingan)
● As a result of his extensive practices, John is able to win the golf champion. (karena
banyak Latihan, John mampu memenangkan pertandingan golf)

Example
● we cannot go to the beach due to the rain. (Kami batal pergi ke pantai karena hujan)
● Sarah finally succeeds in the competition owing to her optimism,  (Sarah akhirnya
memenangkan pertandingan karena optimismenya)
● John is able to win the golf champion as a result of his extensive practices (John mampu
memenangkan pertandingan golf karena banyak Latihan)
CONTOH KALIMAT CAUSE AND

● Because the rain starts to fall, Jane wears her raincoat (Karena hujan mulai turun, Jane
memakai jas hujannya.)
● The baby was crying, so mother picked up (Bayinya menangis, jadi ibu
menggendongnya.)
● When the wster starts to boil, the kettle whistles. (Saat air mulai mendidih, tekonya
berbunyi.)
● Since school was cancelled, we went to the mall (Karena sekolah diliburkan, kami pergi
ke mall)
● The road will be closed today due to an annual festival (Jalan akan ditutup hari ini karena
ada festival tahunan)
