What is geostrategic?
Geostrategic meaning

Geostrategy comes from the word “geo” which

means earth and strategy Interpreted as an effort
to use all capabilities or resources to implement
the policies that have been set.

Geostrategy can be interpreted as a method or

guide in the framework realize the ideals and
goals of a nation.
 Geostrategic Goals
The Geostrategic concept developed by the Indonesian state, principally
in the context of :

1. Planning and developing the potential of the Indonesian nation’s

national power based on ideology, politics, socio-culture, including
natural aspects.

2. Support the main tasks of the Indonesian government such as:

● law and order
● welfare and prosperity
● defense and prosperity
● yuridical justice and social justice
● freedom of the people
National Resilience
The Definition of National Resilience
National resilience is the ability of a country to defend
and protect the integrity and sovereignty of the country
from threats that come from within and outside the
country.

National resilience includes military security and

defense, protection of natural resources and the
environment, as well as arrangements for international
relations that are favorable to the interests of "national
resilience".

paragraph 3 of the 1945 Constitution, which reads: "Setiap warga negara berhak dan wajib
ikut dalam upaya pembelaan terhadap negara“ however, currently the meaning of defending

Implementation of
national defense in
Indonesia
National defense is one of the rights and obligations that all Indonesian people have. Various efforts
of national defense can be done from various environments, starting from the family, school, and
society. The mandate regarding national defense is also contained in the Undang-Undang Dasar 1945
article 27 paragraph 3 “setiap warga negara berhak dan wajib ikut serta dalam upaya pembelaan
negara”. The method of implementing national defense is explained in article 9 paragraph (2) of
Undang-Undang number 3 of 2002 concerning national defense which states that “keikutsertaan
warga negara dalam upaya bela negara dapat dilaksanakan melalui pendidikan kewarganegaraan,
latihan dasar kemiliteran, mengikuti militer sukarela maupun wajib dan pengabdian sesuai profesi
untuk membela negara dan bangsanya”.

are in accordance with the personality of the nation of Indonesia.

3. Meyakini Pancasila sebagai ideologi negara

Pancasila is a reference and life guide for the Indonesian nation which is needed in order to
achieve Indonesia's national goals and objectives.
 National Defense Values
4. Sikap rela berkorban
The meaning of willing to sacrifice is willing to sacrifice anything sincerely for the sake of
living together. For example, avoid being selfish or wanting to win alone.

5. Memiliki kemampuan bela negara

Every individual can have an attitude of obedience, discipline, never give up, and believe
in their own abilities in order to create a behavior of national defense.
