MOLBOGS

MALEBUGANON OR MALEBUGAN
HISTORY
One of the Muslim Cultural Minorities
Migrants from the Northern part of Borneo who came in Palawan
even before the spanish came.
Molbogs do a lot of farming, fishing and occasional barter trading
with the Sulu Bangsa Moro, and nearby Sabah market centers as
means of their subsistence.

According to their ancestors, molbogs tribe are originally came


from Tawi-Tawi and in Tawi-tawi there are 80% pure molbog and
20% half molbog.

They are usually found in Island of


Balabac,Palawan, Ramos Island.

HOW THEY WORSHIP THEIR GOD?

They group themselves for prayer and


pray at statue( Diyos- Diyosan) or what
they called ANITO.
PRAYER POINTS:
Scripture Prayers for the Molbog in the Philippines,
Pray that every Muslim and Christian relationship will show love
that will open Muslim herats for the Gospel.
Pray for teaching opportunities. Pray that God’s words will continue
to speak to them.Pray that God will cause a breakthrough among this
people.

Pray for culturally sensitive missionaries to come to


the Molbog people to share Jesus.
Pray for continous favorable opportunities to be
opened for these people that will finally bring salvation
for the Molbog.
MEDICINES THEY USE TO CURE THEIR
SICKNESS

They are using herbals but usually praying at their


Anito even small or simple sickness.

“TAROK” – dance ritual for a person with illness.


TRADITIONAL CUSTOMES

Molbog Tribe is also making


clothes or fabrics out of
bamboo skin.

Men and women uses


patadyong as their clothing.
Some of them wears bahag or
likely Igorot style.
GAMES PLAYED BY THEIR CHILDREN

Children of Malbog tribe play bato-bola using santol fruit


or suha.
MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS
AGONG( Drum like)
LOCAL DANCE
RONSAI sa LUGTA- they do this for wishing or need something.
They even call this Ronsai Lugta (Lupa or Soil). (Paa yung
ginagamit)

RONSAI sa RANGAR- they do this for give thanks (Pasasalamat).


(kahoy ang gamit)

“PANG-ALAY”- the offering is made when they


have occasions like wedding and thanksgiving. It
means that they are asking to those we can’t see to
do nothing with them.
SONG
Pamelawin Style( Ilocano Music) – they do this as a
sacrificing song or sometimes they do this as their game like a
relay, who ever didn’t sing the lyrics correctly will dance in
the middle of thecircle.

Dance rituals and bamboo fabrics need special reasons to be performed or produced .
LOCAL FOOD
AMPING (pinipig with gata)- they prepare it with sugar
or the syrup of the sugar bamboo. Then they let it stay
for 1-2 hours before eating because some of them van
have a stomach ache.
