This assignment assesses the

leaders and managers in achieving organisational
objectives.
Assignment Brief (consists of two parts)
1- Part One
Select an organisation in an automobile manufacturing company sector, which has presence in
more than two continents (e.g., Asia, Europe, North America) using information available in the
public domain to examine the leadership style(s) and skills of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
of the organisation. Discuss the role of this leader in achieving the organisational objectives and
dealing with challenges such as Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), cross-culture,
sustainability, gender pay gap, and the impact of this leader within the chosen organisation.
Provide relevant recommendations for the CEO that are consistent with the findings of your
analysis (i.e., what would you advise the CEO to do differently in dealing with the challenges
faced his/her company?).
2- Part Two
Using in-depth literature, critically discuss what you believe is the leadership styles
and skills of the CEO, in the context of the chosen organisation, and how you believe
this leadership style(s) is linked to academic theories.

What is critical writing and Analysis ?
The most characteristic features of critical writing are:

• a clear and confident refusal to accept the conclusions of other writers without
evaluating the arguments and evidence that they provide
• a balanced presentation of reasons why the conclusions of other writers may be
accepted or may need to be treated with caution
• a clear presentation of your own evidence and argument, leading to your
conclusion
• a recognition of the limitations in your own evidence, argument, and
conclusion
