DUAL SIDE RECIPROCATING PUMP
MECHANISM
• It is the combination of scotch yoke mechanism and reciprocating
pump.
• It consists of 4 links.
1. Link 1 : Fixed Link ( Frame )
2. Link 2 : Crank
3. Link 3 : Slider
4. Link 4 : Piston
• It consists of 4 pairs as three are sliding pairs and one is turning
pair.
MOBILITY ( DEGREE OF FREEDOM )
• No. of Links : 4 ( N )
• No. of Pairs : 4 (P₁ )

• By using formula,
DOF = 3 ( N – 1 ) – 2P₁ - P₂
=3(4–1)–2×4
=1
Therefore , Degree of Freedom is “1”.
