EMBRYOGENESIS
-is a complicated process by which a fertilized egg is
developed into an EMBRYO.


happens from the FIRST TRIMESTER of the nine
months of human development that extends from
fertilization to the end of the third month

- where the zygote divides to produce a
cluster of cells known as the morula.

The cell number increases but


the cell size doesn’t change.

BLASTOCYST
A blastocyst forms about five to six
days after a sperm fertilizes an egg.
Layers of cells in the blastocyst divide
and separate. They eventually become
the structures that protect and nourish
the developing fetus.

spurt.

bottom and weighs about 320

Fetus at 40 weeks
~ may be around 500 mm
long and weigh 6.5 pounds or
more

~ the baby is now fully


grown and prepared for birth
