ELECTRICAL ENERGY
STORAGE
Global electricity generation has grown rapidly over
the last decade.

EES technology refers to the process of converting

energy from one form (mainly electrical energy) to a
storable form .

ELECTROMAGNETIC ENERGY
STORAGE
The process of storage depend on both material property
and geometry. Its involves the relationship between
electrical and magnetic phenomena for the storage of
modest amounts of energy.
Some applications are SMES and in computer
components.
CAPACITOR
 A capacitor is a passive electronic component that stores
energy in the form of an electrostatic field. In its simplest form,
a capacitor consists of two conducting plates separated by an
insulating material called the dielectric.

 According to these characteristics, capacitors can be used for

some power quality applications, such as high voltage power
correction, smoothing the output of power supplies, bridging
and energy recovery in mass transit system.

SUPERCAPACITOR
A supercapacitor is also known as ultracapacitor or double-
layer electrolytic capacitor. A supercapacitor is a type of capacitor
that can store a large amount of energy, typically 10 to 100 times
more energy per unit mass or volume compared to electrolytic
capacitors.

Utilization of electrical capacitor

Capacitors are components that are used to store an electrical

charge and are used in timer circuits.
A capacitor may be used with a resistor to produce a timer.
Sometimes capacitors are used to smooth a current
in a circuit as they can prevent false triggering of other
components such as relays. When power is supplied to a circuit
that includes a capacitor - the capacitor charges up. When power is
turned off the capacitor discharges its electrical charge slowly
