Reading and Interpreting Electric Meter Readings.

How to read electric meters:

1. Always read all the dials from right to left.
2. Read the number by the pointer of the dial. When the pointer is between
two numbers, the lower number is recorded.
3. If the pointer appears to be exactly on a number, check the dial to the
right to find out the correct reading.
4. If the dial on the right has passed zero, then use the number the pointer is
pointing to on the dial you are reading.
5. If the dial has not passed zero, then make use of the smaller number on
the dial you are reading.

What have we learned?
1. Electricity is measured in kilowatt-hours.
2. An electric meter is used to measure how
much electricity is consumed.
3. To get the electric consumption for the
month, subtract the two consecutive
readings.

Present reading – previous reading = power consumption

Do the following:
1. Read and interpret the given
electric meter readings.

2. Get the electric

consumption based on the given
readings.

3. By how much will it cost if the

rate per kWh is ₱11?
Apply your skills!

Read and interpret the

given electric meter reading.
