VIDEO ON TYPES OF MOTION
RULES WHEN VIEWING A VIDEO
Motion is described as a change in position.
The simplest kind of motion is motion in a
straight line and at a constant rate.
When an object changes position over time
when compared with a reference point we say
that the object is in motion.
All movement are compared with a background that is
assumed stationary.
This background is called a point or frame of reference.
Speed describes the rate of motion of an object. It is
measured with a speedometer. It has a pointer which
moves up when the vehicle goes fast and down when the
vehicle slows down. Speed is indicated in terms of
kilometer per hour or kph.

RULES IN DOING AN ACTIVITY
Group Activity :
Have students demonstrate indoor activities. Let them
demonstrate the type of motion they assigned.
Group 1: Rolling Activity
Group 2: Periodic Motion
Group 3: Circular Motion
Group 4: Rectilinear Motion
What are the types of motion?
1. Rectilinear Motion – the movement of the object along
a straight line.
2. Circular Motion – object moves around a fixed point
such that its distance from the center remains the same
3. Periodic Motion – motion that repeats itself alter
definite time intervals
4. Rolling Motion – combination of rectilinear motion
and circular motion
dentify the types of motion in each activity.

3. earth moving around the sun
4. ball moving on a ground
5. player

correct and false if not.
_____1.Force changes the shape of an object.
_____2.When you shake hands, your hand changes shape.
_____3.When you squeezed a can it will return to its original
shape.
_____4. There is no force exerted if you bend a bamboo
stick.
_____5. The paper changes its shape when you crumple it.

In public health, social distancing, also called physical
distancing, is a set of non-medical interventions or measures
intended to prevent the spread of a contagious disease
(COVID-19) by maintaining a physical distance between
people and reducing the number of times people come into
close contact with each other. Answer the following
questions and be Safe.
. How far we should be to other people to have
social distancing?

2. Why do we have to maintain social distancing
especially if there are a lot of people?

3. Will social distancing help in slowing the
pandemic?
Directions: Tell whether each statement below describes SPEED,
VELOCITY or ACCELERATION. Write the answer in your Science activity
notebook.
__________ 1. Light travels at a speed of 186,000 miles per second.
__________ 2. A train left the station heading towards Pampanga at 75
miles per hour North.
__________ 3. The space station orbits Earth at 17,150 miles per hour.
__________ 4. A long-distance swimmer generally maintains a steady
pace and then increasing his speed at the end of the race.
__________ 5. A ball is rolling West at 5 cm per second.
. Directions: Study the diagram below and answer the questions that
follow. (A separate diagram is provided for you.)
Questions:
1. If you were to go to your friend’s house,
which route or way you are going to take?
Draw an arrow to show that route.
2. Can you go from A to B by shorter route and
do not follow the streets? Draw an arrow to
show that route.
B. Directions: Solve for the speed of the two
race cars below. Then,
choose which car runs faster. Write the
answer in your Science
activity notebook.
Question:
After solving their speed, which car would probably win
in the race?
