 Blow away Oxygen: A process of removing Oxygen or replacing Oxygen with other heavy gases from
Fire point. Normally we spray CO2, Foam, Dry Chemical Powder (DCP) or cover the firing spot for this
purpose.

STORAGE OF EXTINGUISHER

 It is a RCC constructed partially

underground & aboveground tank
with the storage capacity of 845.37
cubic meter.

 It is sized for storing 2 hours water

supply to cater highest fire water
demand among the fire system.

 Water Source: Clarifier and

Borewell

Supply Piping Network

Fire Network Piping:

 The system consists of pressurized
underground and aboveground piping
network for distributing water on
respective system area buildings.

 It is normally filled with pressurized

water up to 10 - 13 bar.

 Material: ASTM A 53, Carbon Steel Pipe.

Fire Water Network from West Side

Maintaining Water Supply

 Water is supplied by three pumps (Jockey, electric and

diesel engine driven pumps.) from fire water storage tank
through piping network to the sprinkler/spray and hydrant
system at high pressure.
 All fire pumps are located inside of dedicative Fire Water
Pump House.
 Generally Jockey pumps maintains pressure from 9.8 to
11.5 bar.
 Motor driven fire water pump will be on standby and will
start on 8.7 bar.
 Diesel Engine driven fire water pump will be on standby
Fire Water Pump House
and will start on 8.0 bar.

YOU MUST KNOW

 Where the fire fighting extinguishers are kept.

 Location of fire hydrant points.
 The telephone numbers of Fire brigade, Ambulance and Police.
 What kind of fire extinguisher can be used for this class of fire.
 Application of water on liquid fire and electrical fire causes fire
to spread.
 The route for escape.
YOU SHOULD OBEY AFTER FIRE ALARM

 Don’t use Lift.

 Use only Staircase but don’t push someone from back.
 Don’t open door & not to switch on Exhaust fan.
 Don’t waste time to collect personnel belongings.
 Close window & door as you leave fire zone.
 Don’t run to fire zone without extinguisher.
 Crawl at lower level while passing through smoke area.
 Use wet towel on your mouth and nose.
 Don’t jump out of window.
