I. Mid-Autumn festival
in Vietnam

Vietnam is the country with


many festival. Beside the Tet
Holiday, the Mid-Autumn
festival is one of the most
famous festivals, and it is a
traditional celebration for
Vietnamese children.
• The Mid-Autumn festival held on the 15 th day on the 8th lunar month.
Nowadays, children are provided with many nice lanterns – star lanterns,
flower lanterns and diverse funny masks for special performance in the
evening of the full moon. Everywhere is fallen in the active and colourful
air.
• The children perform fantastic lion dances and sing folklore songs in the
house’s grounds or on streets when the moon is rising.
• On this day, the adults and the parents prepare many different foods –
Moon cakes, candies, biscuits, jellies, and fruit such as grapefruit, logan
fruit, bananas, apples, mango, etc. All of them are designed with fun
symbols, including: dog, cat,mouse, ...
• Moon cakes are the specific cakes and are only on this festival. Moon cake,
which is made from meat, egg, dried fruit,pumkin’s seed, peanut, is so sweet
and tasting.
• Mid-Autumn Festival parties in the evening are a good opportunity for
children to enjoy the festive food and also learn things from their parents
such as how to make the party attractive. The whole family will enjoy the
feast in a cozy, sacred atmosphere.
