SOCIAL MEDIA
ADDICTION
Social media addiction is a behavioral
disorder in which teens or young adults
become enthralled by social media and
are unable to reduce or cease their
consumption of online media despite
clear negative consequences and severe
drawbacks.
HOW IS IT
AFFECTING
CHILDREN?
Children and teens who spend more time
with social media or who sleep with
mobile devices in their rooms are at
greater risk for sleep problems. Exposure
to light (particularly blue light) and
stimulating content from screens can
delay or disrupt sleep, and have a
negative effect on school.
SOLUTION TO
SOCIAL MEDIA
ADDICTION.
- To go on a social media cleanse
- By making them communicate more
with real people and experience real
life.
- Engage them in outdoor activities and
open discussions.
kids are part of a generation that never knew what life was like before the internet.
Since they'll be online from a much younger age than you probably were, it's
important to teach them about the risks from a young age, including predators,
scams and cyberbullying. Guiding and supervising kids as they navigate the ever-
changing online landscape, making sure they are confident and safe as digital
citizens.
