 WHAT IS MATTER

– Something that have mass and occupies space is called

matter the . Matter is made up of extremely small
particles called atoms and molecules .Their are five
types of matter solid , liquid , gas , plasma and Bose
Einstein condensate . We will study about three state
of matter
 Solids

Solid have a fixed shape and fixed volume . A solid will

retain shape unless it is cut , squeezed , crushed or melted .
A solid maybe hard , soft ,smooth or rough .
Solids particles are most tight
 Liquid

– Liquid don’t have a fixed shape . Liquid have fixed

volume . Liquid take the shape of container
– Examples water , petrol ,
 Gas

– A gas have nether fixed shape nor fixed volume

– Gas particles are very loosely packed
– Hydrogen.
– Nitrogen.
– Oxygen.
– Carbon Dioxide.
– Carbon Monoxide.
– Helium.
