THE RESISTANCE AGAINST
DISASTERS IN BRUNEI
Due to Brunei having a problem with natural disasters, they have developed a way to
counter these disasters.
Brunei has mild climate change exposure. Natural disasters in the country increasing
rates of rain that will cause flash floods, and sometimes landslides. Forest fires are
compounded by the temperature differences. Climate change will make these
disasters worse

CHRISTCHURCH
One of the natural disasters seen by mankind occurred in Christchurch at the end of 2010. 4
major earthquakes and 11.2k aftershocks damaged Christchurch and nearby cities.
How many people were killed in the Christchurch Earthquake?
It is estimated about 65 casualties happened due to the earthquake, bringing down buildings
and buckling roads.

THE TERRIBLE OUTCOME OF Cities, Houses and roads were

for rebuilding the city were

LOCATED

New Zealand is an Island

country on the continent of
Oceania. New Zealand is
above active tectonic plates
causing earthquakes. New
Zealand is one of the least
corrupt countries in the
world.

THE MANY FLOODS AND
LAND SLIDES OF BRUNEI
Brunei has been experiencing major problems with flash floods and
landslides, heavy rains are flooding farms that are damaging crops. Many
landslides have occurred and destroyed many houses and cars. Despite all of
this, Brunei is thriving in economy.

Since Brunei is a small country it has not

much clashing between tectonic plates
therefore, it is not effected by earthquakes.
Due to its small size, It is free from Volcanic
eruptions and cyclones.

BRUNEI
LOCATED

Brunei is located on the eastern side

of Asia. Bordering with Malaysia
and has access to the South China
sea on its north. It is a Muslim
country. Despite it’s small size,
Brunei is one of the richest countries
in the world in terms of GDP per
Capita.
