◦ contract (shorten) to produce movement
🞂 Three types:
1. Skeletal muscle
2. Cardiac muscle
3. Smooth muscle
● Cell Characteristics:
○ Striations (stripes)
○ Multinucleate (more than one nucleus)
○ Long, cylindrical shape

impulse spreads across the heart synchronously
