INTRODUCTION & RATIONALE

Cyberbullying is more harmful than other types of

violence because a negative post or comment can reach a
limitless number of social media (SM) users, thereby
increasing the opportunity for prolonged exposure and
permanency (Mohammed, et. al, 2020). Furthermore,
younger generations currently tend to embrace the use of
SM (Patchin & Hinduja, 2019).
INTRODUCTION & RATIONALE
The use of the internet has steadily grown over time.
As of January 2020, the estimated number of active
users worldwide was 3.8 billion, reflecting an increase
from the number of 3.4 billion in January 2019 (Kemp,
2019). In particular, during the coronavirus disease
2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, there has been an
increase in the number of digital platform users (Jain,
et al. 2019).
