PRELIMINARIES

The LAC session started with a prayer led by Ma’am Mary Jane G. Manabat. Followed
by Dr. Carlyn Don G. Padul, Master Teacher II/Cluster Head in his discussion on item analysis.
As agreed by the teachers under him, the teachers will follow the guidelines in making of test
questions.

SESSION PROPER

Item analysis is a process which examines student responses to individual test items
(questions) in order to assess the quality of those items and of the test as a whole. Item analyses
are intended to assess and improve the reliability of the tests. If test reliability is low, test validity
will necessarily also be low. This is the ultimate reason why we do item analyses—to improve
the validity of a test by improving its reliability.

To address the varying needs of learners in breaking down test questions and teachers in
the making of quality questions, discussion about Item Analysis was done through a LAC
session under Dr. Carlyn Don G. Padul last March 3, 2023 at Balayong Hall. The participants
were actively participated in the checking of every test questions.
