 INTRODUCTION

Bahani Tea Estate situated at Mariani in Jorhat District of Assam.

Bahani Tea Estate is majorly in Agriculture and Allied activities business from
last 84 years and currently, company operations are active . Bahani Tea Estate
situated between Tyroon Tea Estate and Kharikatia Tea Estate.
Establishment of the estate was in the year 1939. The present company of the
estate is BAHANI TEA CO PVT LTD.
Total area belonging to it is about 232.56 ha and under plantation area is
110.93 ha.
 SOIL : The soil of the estate is sandy loam and pH ranges between 3.91 - 5.10

 SOIL TEST:

Collection of soil samples

 Top soil and sub soil need to be collected and kept separately during
soil sample collection. Top soil is collected up to 0- 15 cm depth from
surface and sub soil is collected from 15cm to 30 cm depth.

Breather cutting:
During Light pruning a breather is left out in the bushes and it is cut of after bud break. It is done to reduce stress in the bush.
