Do’s for FOOD in Mexico
◦ Authentic Mexican ingredients include maize (corn), chocolate, vanilla, chili peppers, tomatoes,
tomatillos, beans, and avocado form the foundation of many traditional Mexican dishes and contribute to
the unique and rich flavours that characterize Mexican cuisine.
◦ Try:-
 Tacos – a tortilla with meat or fish filling
 Tamales – dough made from corn, steamed in banana leaves
 Elote – ‘Bhutta’ :D
 Mole – A red sauce served over turkey and chicken
Don’ts for Food in Mexico
◦ Enjoy Street Food, but opt for stalls that seem clean and have a crowd
◦ Don’t drink tap water, stick to bottled water and avoid ice in your drinks
◦ Raw and undercooked seafood – including sushi, can pose a risk of foodborne illness
◦ While enjoying the vibrant produce in Mexico make sure to thoroughly wash fruits and vegetables before
using them
