This text type shows the readers about events or content.


The events in chronology is written by time or date. Arranging events as a series of
steps following a list-like structure

There are some transition signals which are usually used


Before, after, first, second, until, then, next and so on.

One of genre texts which uses time order is “Recount Text”


RECOUNT TEXT

 Recount text is told in chronological order using time or place. recount text is
found in biography, personal experiences, events and so on.
 Recount text is a text that telling the reader about one story, action or activity. Its
goal is to entertaining or informing the reader.
 Recount text is purposed to retell something that happened in the past and to tell a
series of past event, to retell events for the purpose of informing or entertaining
readers

Let’s Play Alibi Game

 A student becomes a police


 A student becomes a criminal
 A criminal and the other students make circle.
 The police will go around the circle and ask them  “Where were you last night?”
 The other students will answer their alibi “ I was walking my dog, I was at the
grocery store, I was watching a movie”
 After each person has given their alibi, the detective goes around the circle a
second time asking the same question. Everyone but the person who was chosen
as the criminal gives the same answer as the first time, but the criminal gives a
different alibi.
