Agreement in Making
Definitions
In making definitions, correct grammar must be
observed. One of the common grammatical errors is
the subject and verb agreement. When a subject and
its verb fit together properly, they are said to agree
with each other.
In this lesson, we will study the grammatical agreement
of subjects and verbs as well as pronouns and their
antecedents. The table below comprises the common
mistakes in the subject-verb agreement in making
definitions.
Exercise 1.
Directions: Choose and underline the
correct verb from the given choices to
complete the statements.

COVID-19 pandemic is the global
health crisis we are facing right now It

Because of that, many countries are
doing their best to look for a cure and
means to slow the spread of the virus.

events, concerts, as well as schools.
Many establishments were also close
which directly affect the income of the
people. That is why the government is
continuously doing all the ways and
means to help every citizen by giving
cash assistance and others for nobody
knows when normality will return.
On the other hand, Department
of Health (DOH) always
reminds us to regularly do the
health protocols which we can
at least do to fight against this
disease.
