 OBJECTIVES:

1.To find the median and mode of ungrouped
data

 2. To find the median and mode of grouped data


Median Computation for Ungrouped data

Median – middlemost score of the distribution


If n is even : Mdn = ( x + x ) / 2

Data 1 : 3 , 22, 31, 12, 18, 9, 11, 8


Arrange:
x1 = 31, x2 =22, x3= 18, x4=12, x5 =11, x6 =9, x7=8, x8 =3
Solution : ( x + x ) / 2

= (x+ x )/2

= ( x 4 + x 5) /2
