LINE CONSTRUCTION
What is a LINE?
LINES
• This is the path form by a point as it moves in space
freely. It is the figure developed when a series of
points are joined side by side with each other, or when
a point is allowed to move in space.

• In technical drawing, lines are categorized according


to the number of their strokes. These are the Soft,
Medium and Hard Lines.
Lines are drawn following a specific direction
in order to develop speed and skill in the
process.
1. HORIZONTAL LINES.

• This is drawn from the left to the right side.


• It is also sketched in the same direction.

2. VERTICAL LINES.
• It is sketched in a downward direction, or from
the top to the bottom.
3. OBLIQUE or DIAGONAL LINES.
• These are lines that are slant or diagonal lines.
a. Right Slope
b. Left Slope

4. CURVE LINES
• Like vertical lines, it is also sketched in a
downward direction, or from the top to
the bottom.
