Book Development Based

On Local Potential of Corn
Plants in Gorontalo Province

Corn is one of the local potentials
owned by Gorontalo province which is
still being produced, but the corn plant
that the author takes in this study is the
local corn plant of Gorontalo Province
which is currently rarely cultivated and
even almost extinct.
BACKROUND
Learning resources used in schools are
currently still glued to textbooks published
by the ministry of national education which
still defend daily examples of general, non-
specific examples.

Therefore, there is a need for learning

resources related to local potential, namely
corn morphology that can provide
understanding at all levels of education
related to various types of local corn plant
varieties. This learning resource is
packaged in the form of a supplement
book.
One of the important things in learning
activities is teaching materials. On teacing
materials, containing learning materials
that are designed attractively and
systematically in order to achieve the
expected goals.

Based on the research results, this research is a

development research that produces products related
to local plants owned by the province of Gorontalo.
This supplement book can be studied by the general
public because this book is a reference book or
complementary book that is flexible.
 Based on the supplement book that Based on the validation results, the

validation are as follows.

consisting of 9 aspects obtained a final
score of 87,3%.

accordance with the Indonesian Spelling

criteria. This means that the graphic design
in the supplementary book is in accordance

criteria, which means that supplement books can be used

However, based on the suggestions and

comments from the 3 validators, it still
needs to be improved for the perfection of
the preparation of the corn plant supplement
book
CONCLUSIONS

Based on the results of research and discussion, it is concluded

that the supplementary book developed is valid for use in learning
based on the results of validation by the validator team.
