HYPOTHESIS

Despite modern influences, Bangladeshi private university students continue to value


Shatranji cultural relevance. The study assumes that students will take an active interest in
Shatranji preservation because they value it as a symbol of Bangladeshi culture and
identity. In order to illustrate Shatranji importance in maintaining cultural diversity and
history in the midst of global change, this research paper investigates how private
university students support the preservation of the site.

Research Findings

The findings reveal that 78.1% of private university students surveyed were
familiar with Shataranji as a traditional skill. I tradition and identity. However,
21.9% were not well-informed about Shataranji, indicating a potential gap in
awareness among a minority of the students. Overall, the majority of students
acknowledged the craft's importance, showcasing appositive attitude towards
its cultural value.

In conclusion, this study explores the complicated realm of


Shatranji craft in Rangpur, going down to the core of
Bangladesh's traditional legacy. It not only sheds light on
the craft's rich history, craftsmanship, and cultural value
through a painstaking blend of primary surveys and
thorough secondary research, but it also emphasizes the
crucial role private university students play in its
preservation.
