EXERCISE 1: CUBES

1. Find the volume, total surface, diagonal and mass (in grams) of a cubical block of wood with a side length of
12 cm. Every cubic centimeter volume of the wood has a mass of 0.7 grams.

2. A cube has a volume of 850 cm3. Find the surface area and the edge of the cube.

3. A cuboid is formed by joining two cubes, each of edge 12 cm. What is the surface area of the cuboid so
formed?

4. A cube (surface area = 486 cm2) is melted and formed into small cubes, each of 54 mm 2 surface area. Find the
number of small cube formed.

5. Is it possible to melt a solid cuboid of volume 1200 cm3 and form ten cubes, each of side 5 cm.
