FLAT HEAD
A
SCREWDRIVER
flat-head screwdriver is a
screwdriver with a wedge-shaped flat
tip.

It is used to tighten or loosen screws that have a

straight, linear notch in their heads.

How To Screw A Flathead Screw

PHILLIPS HEAD
A Phillips SCREWDRIVER
screwdriver has a head
with pointed edges in the shape of a
cross.

This fits neatly into the cross slots of a Phillips

screw.

TORX SCREWDRIVER
Are used on fasteners that have a 6-
pointed star notch in order to tighten
or loosen these screws.

Fits into the slots of a Torx screw.

HEX DRIVER

A hex screwdriver is designed to

remove or drive fasteners with a
hexagonal notch .

WIRE STRIPPER &
CUTTER
A wire stripper is a hand tool
designed to remove the protective
covering, or jacket, from electrical
wires .

Wire cutters are shaped like a pair of scissors

and have two levers hinged at a fulcrum that,
when pressed together, may sever a wire.

CABLE TIES
Cable ties, also known as a zip-tie or tie-wrap, hold groups of cables,
wires and tubing together for support and ease of maintenance.

ANTI-STATIC WRIST
WRAP
An anti-static wrist strap, also called an
electrostatic discharge (ESD) wrist strap, is
a safety device worn on your wrist that
prevents the buildup of static electricity.
ESD straps are primarily used when
working with electronic components.
When properly worn, the highly
conductive threads that make up the strap
direct static electricity to a ground where it
can be discharged safely. This protects the
components from damage and keeps the
wearer safe.

How to use an anti-static wrist strap

Electrostatic Discharge
An example of ESD is the small shock that you receive when you walk
across a carpeted room and touch a doorknob. Although the small shock is
harmless to you, the same electrical charge passing from you to a computer
can damage its components. Self-grounding or wearing an antistatic wrist
strap can prevent ESD damage to computer components.
The purpose of self-grounding or wearing an antistatic wrist strap is to
equalize the electrical charge between you and the equipment. Self-
grounding is done by touching a bare metal part of a computer case. The
antistatic wrist strap is a conductor that connects your body to the
equipment that you are working on. When static electricity builds up in
your body, the connection made by the wrist strap to the equipment, or
ground, channels the electricity through the wire that connects the strap.

ANTI-STATIC MAT
An anti-static mat or ground mat is an
anti-static device that safeguards an
individual or piece of equipment like a
PC from an electrostatic discharge
(ESD). Computer components that are
sensitive to static electricity or ESD
are motherboards, CPUs, expansion
cards and memory devices.

MULTIMETER
A multimeter or a multitester , also known as a
VOM (volt-ohm-milliammeter), is an
electronic measuring instrument that combines
several measurement functions in one unit. A
typical multimeter can measure voltage,
current, and resistance .

A multimeter enables us to make accurate

measurements of both current and voltage, can
help us test and debug circuits in the computer
by checking continuity and can help us identify
component values.

A flashlight is a portable hand-held

electric light. A flashlight uses an
LED or incandescent bulb as a light
source, and the power source is a
battery.
