Dressing

Sex (Gender) Education in Pre-Schooler
1. Questions about genital organs
 Explanation should be simple
e.g. “boys look different from girls”
 Do not convey these body parts as malicious topics so that sexual
aberration are not suppressed
2. Masturbation
 Explain to child that certain things are done in some places but not in
others
 Do not call unnecessary attention to act because it can cause an increase
anxiety & activity.
3. Sexual Abuse
 Teach the child not all people are friends
 Educate the child that they do not allow anyone to touch their body
 Do not talk to strangers or take candy from strangers
4. Where the babies come from? Possible answers:
• “Babies grow in a special place in a mother’s body called uterus (do
not use tummy so as not confuse child that baby & food mixed all
together)
5. How babies get inside the mother to start growing?
• “When a woman & man love each other & decide they want a baby,
the man plants a seed & the woman’s seed grow inside the uterus
into a new baby”
6.How the baby gets out?
“The woman goes to the hospital & the doctor gets it out from the
vagina”
Preparing the Child for School
• Choose a day care center will provide childcare, stimulates
sense of activity & initiative. Moreover, introduces them to
new experiences.
• To evaluate such experiences, ask them regularly what
happened at school, what they learned, and the names of
friends.
• Parents must assume an active role in providing input into an
education to influence what & how child learns.
• Talk about school as an exciting place , as an adventure
reward so that the child perceives it as a positive experience.
• Before school, accustom child in waking up early & going to
bed earlier.

b. Bragging = telling of lie done to impress others
c. Cover – up lies = bad type of lying & done to escape
punishment
d. Make believe lies = no basis at all
