A. About the course


This subject is designed to enhance students’ English proficiency for daily
conversation and special occasions such as interview and presentation coherently and
clearly. In this course, The students are also required to demonstrate presentation skill in
offline and online platform.

B. Teaching Approaches
This subject will introduce the English skills to the students through
several activities and topics that relate to communicate in formal and informal situation.
This unit is expected to strengthen students’ foundation especially in speaking skills by
understanding the linguistic aspects of grammar, phrases, vocabulary and phonology as
well as their oral interactive strategies. Also, the students will practice speaking in public
speaking by understanding how to organize their ideas logically and presenting their
ideas in various communication situations.

B. Learning Outcomes
1. Students are able to comprehend the aim and benefit of the unit.
2. Students are able to express personal opinion confidently in formal situation.
3. Students are able to use Auxiliary Verb in various context
4. Students are able to understand language functions and use them in daily
conversation.
5. Students are able to explain an object or place accurately in English.
6. Students are able to construct an imperative sentence.
7. Students understand how to ask a polite request in a formal situation
8. Students are able to use relative pronoun and interrogative pronoun in daily
communication.

A. Purpose
1. Students are able to comprehend the aim and benefit of the
unit.

1. Description
In the first meeting, the students will be introduced with
the module overview. This module is aimed to help the lecturer
promote effective English learning in the online classroom by
engaging their students in communicative activities to develop
English proficiency. The module aims to develop students’ confidence
in using English in various communication situations, both formal
and informal.

English for Accounting

Accounting is the systematic and comprehensive


recording of financial transactions pertaining to a
business, and it also refers to the process of
summarizing, analyzing and reporting these
transactions to oversight agencies and tax collection
entities.
Accounting is one of the key functions for almost any
business; it may be handled by a bookkeeper and
accountant at small firms or by sizable finance
departments with dozens of employees at large
companies.
Jobs in Accounting

Kinds of Jobs in Accounting:

 Bookkeeping, Bookkeeping is the recording, on a day-to-


day basis, of the financial transactions and information
pertaining to a business. It ensures that records of the
individual financial transactions are correct, up-to-date and
comprehensive
 Accountant, a person who trained to prepare and maintain
financial records.
 Tax Accountant, a person who making process that focuses
on tax issues - including filing tax returns and planning for
future tax responsibilities - as opposed to the preparation of
financial statements.
 Internal Audit,an independent, objective assurance and
consulting activity designed to add value and improve an
organization's operations. It helps an organization
accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined
approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk
management, control, and governance processes.
 External Audit, a company audit which is performed by a
party which is not a department or employed by business to
be audited, are very commonly performed.
