TRENDS VS. FADS
OBJECTIVES:

• 1. define fad and trend


• 2. differentiate fad from trend.
• 3. appreciate the importance of change
in various aspects in life by knowing
the difference between fads and
trends.
MECHANICS:
• 1. The students will be group into 3.
• 2. Each group will receive an activity sheet for
them to answer.
• They were given 10 minutes to write their
answer and 3 minutes to discuss their answer in
front.
• 4. Each group will select a representative to
discuss their answer.
TRENDS
• is a continuous development towards something new or
different.
• Trend is a long—term preoccupation of something. It
has a staying power to endure the test of time.
• tend to last for years or decades, evolving and changing
as they go.
FADS
• a short-term, fleeting interest in a product or event.
• It tends to come and go very quickly
• It is something, such as an interest or fashion, that
is very popular for a short time.
• is a product that has little, if any, utility but is
characterized by a quick rise in sales and
popularity followed by a quick decline in sales and
popularity.
