ABSTRACT

• Solar cells reduce electricity consumption by using

less coal or oil. However, expensive solar panels are
not suitable for windows due to their lack of
transparency. Organic colorants can create colorless
solar windows that capture sunlight, producing 100
watts of electricity, enough to recharge 20
smartphones. This could lead to clean energy
production.
INTRODUCTION
• These people use phones, televisions, computers, and many
other devices that need electricity to work. Because of this,
many countries want to create electricity from clean energy
sources, like sunlight
• Typical solar panels are made with a material called silicon,
which can capture sunlight.
• Silicon is expensive, so it is difficult to put many solar panels in
poor countries.
• Also, silicon does not let light pass through it, so silicon solar panels
cannot be used for windows, because they will hide your beautiful
views.
HOW DO SOLAR WINDOWS WORK ?
• Solar glass windows contain solar cells that convert the sunlight into
usable energy.
• means that during daylight hours, light passing through the windows
can provide a home with free renewable electricity.
• In a solar window, a transparent coating or material gathers
some of the energy from the light passing through the window
and stores it as electricity.
• Unlike solar panels, it allows some of the light spectrum --
visible light -- to pass through, while collecting energy from the
infrared and ultraviolet light we cannot see.
