Introduction:

• Microsoft Dynamics AX is a multi-language, multi-


currency, industry-specific global enterprise resource
planning (ERP) software product.
• Microsoft Dynamics AX supports operational and
administrative processes for organizations in
manufacturing, retail, service industries and the public
sector. Among its capabilities are financial
management, human resource management (HRM),
manufacturing, supply chain management (SCM),
project management and accounting, retail and business
intelligence (BI) reporting.

Open Microsoft dynamics AX software.


Our Working area regarding Warranty Cases

Go to address bar and click on OES as scroll


down window appears then select “warranty and
claim management” as shown in figure.

After clicking on warranty and claim management, this window appears.


“Claims Window’s Display”

After entering in all claims this window appears as different claims of several manufacturer’s
appears.
Claims can be sort out through pool option by typing cu* for
Sorting Of Claims

For sorting purpose above shown five options can be use as follows:

Claim can be search by claim number through claim option.

Claim can be searched by customer name through description option.

Claim can be search by vendor account.

Claim can be search by equipments manufacturing place through name option if allowed.

Claim can be search by equipments manufacturers name through pool option.

Hysteric(*) sign must be use after name or number if search mode is applied.

If search mode is not available it can be activated by ctrl+g, if search mode is activated
hysteric application remains must.

Operations Of Functions

For creation of new claim you have to click on claim button as highlighted in above figure of
tool bar.

For editing of any editable option, activation of edit option is must.

Delete option is used for deleting of claims.

Refresh option is used for refreshing of claims window.

Journal option is used parameter’s value insertion.


“Claim Form initial Window”

Claim on left top corner is the claim number of certain claim which is going
to be filled.

Description is the identity through which you can identify your claim after
its creation.

Except claim and description all options can only be filled through scroll
down options.

Pool: Manufacturers Name

Category: Type of Job during which failure occur.

Customer Account: customer name & code.

Service Object: Identity Number of Equipment in AX.

Description, service group and serial number under service object will be
filled automatically when service object selection is done.

Item Principal: selection of warranty principal such as Cummins CPG or


Cummins EBU.

Settlement: contains info of vendor if involved in work/job.

This format completion is first step in warranty claim procedure.


After completion of format filling, OK button should be pressed.
Once OK button is pressed this form will vanish and will not be available again for editing.

*This format is known as line view*


*Claim number and description of claim have its own importance
when you want to chase the history of claim(s) in future for any
reference, so its safe notification should be done.

Above generated two lines are imaged automatically by AX from first step format.

Vendor account is empty as vendor is not involved in warranty job.

Invoice account will be generated manually by selecting customer.

Filling this part requires above mentioned fields regarding warranty


fields functions are illustrated below:
Labor field includes the trained workers who performed and
completed the job.
Spare parts field includes the parts which are replaced in warranty.
Travel KM field includes the travelling distance from office to
customer and vice versa.

Header view_Part#1:
This window is the initial window of header view format .
In this window as several options are displayed out of them only fault and repair
dates are editable other than that most of the options are taken from previously filled
data.
The fields which left blank, some of them are non editable.

Header View Part#2:


Description of above mentioned fields are illustrated below:
Account code field prescribes the type of warranties.
Controller field prescribes the type of controller either CPG or non CPG but with
limited options.
Pay code field prescribes about product’s distributor type through which warranty is
raised.
Severity code Field prescribes about equipment operational status under warranty
scenario.
Warranty code field prescribes about the type of warranty
chosen by customer or proposed to customer.

Header View Part#3:


There are total of six fields in which information is filled manually by user, these fields are
briefed below:
Claim details field prescribes about the problem which occurred in equipment.
Cause field prescribes about the reason due to which equipment is damaged or disabled.
Customer complaint field prescribes about unsatisfactory statement given from customer side.
Correction field prescribes about remedies done to enable the equipment for operation purpose.
Coverage field prescribes the circumstances of failed equipments warranty eligibility.
Test bench field prescribes about the failed equipment’s rechecking.

Header View Part#4:


Description of this section consist of four fields regarding our concern which is
illustrated below:
Department field prescribes about the division of organization through which
warranty is raised.
Location field prescribes about the city where an organization is established.
Region field prescribes about the district of city in which organization exist.
Section field prescribes about warranty claim is for which Cummins division.
