• Kakinada Deep Water Port was commissioned by the

government of AP in November 1997 with a quay length of KAKINADA SEAPORTS
610 meters.
• The Kakinada seaports took over operations when the port was
privatized in 1999.
• Ten years later, the port was expanded to 2500 meters of quay
length for multi-product handling and stand-alone facility for
off shore supplies for deep sea exploration.
• Primary cargoes of this region include agriculture products,
minerals, coal and fertilizers.
• Kakinada seaports limited is ISO 9001, ISO 14001 & ISO
45001 certified.

 KSPL shall constantly promote safe operating practices, safety awareness among its employees and
associated personal during its operations and shall abide to applicable legislations for continual
improvement in occupational, health and safety.
 ABSTRACT

• Workers around the world are disproportionally exposed across almost all workplace sectors, with
more than 1 billion workers exposed to storage, handling, and transportation of a hazardous
chemicals, each year.
• ILO estimated 1 million of these workers lose their lives each year due to exposure to hazardous
chemicals. For those who do not lose their lives, they may face non-fatal injuries and diseases
resulting in disability, debilitating chronic disease and other health impacts. All of these deaths,
injuries and illnesses are entirely preventable.
• Major industrial accidents, such as the Beirut Port Explosion of ammonium nitrate, show the
urgency of this global health crisis
• This analysis method is based on the nature of study use a qualitative methodology.
• Create a zero accidents in a storage, handling, and transportation of hazardous chemicals.
• Safety should always be the top priority when it comes to the storage, handling, and transportation
of hazardous chemicals.
