DEFINITIONS

Big data refers to a large, complex data set that can be analyzed to reveal
patterns and trends related to human behavior and interactions . Nurses have to
use big data to improve patients outcomes . Nurses are care coordinators and an
integral of the healthcare system. The discipline needs to maximize the benefits
of big data to advance the vision of promoting human health and wellbeing.
Integrating data involves integrating teams ,concepts and technology to create
infrastructure of housing big data and using it in a meaningful way while
addressing data accessibility, ownership and privacy.
An integrative review exploring the impact of electronic health records on the
quality of nurse-patient interactions and communication.
Data analytics is the process of gathering vast amount of raw data
ROLE OF INTERGRATING DATA ANALSTICS

 Allows nurses in the hospital to uncover areas of waste

 Empower the nurses more on informed decisions using hospital resources
 Delivers accurate view of what is happening
 Supports decisions that will led to cost savings
TYPES OF BIG ANALYTIC DATA

 Descriptive analytic
 Diagnostic analytic
 Predictive analytic
 Prescriptive analytic
BENEFITS OF INTERGRATING BIG DATA
ANALYSTICS
 Cost reduction-by identifying patterns and trends big data analysis can help
nurses discover areas where they can improve efficiency and cut costs.
 Minimizing nursing errors-by analyzing data such as electronic health
records ,data analytic solution
 Improving diagnostic and predictions-it support work and improve the care
quality.
 Increase health indication-they improve public health indicators across
nursing field.
 Enhancing patient experiences-utilizing data analytics helps healthcare ,
providers make smarter decisions on how to improve patient care and patient
experience.
ADVANTAGES OF INTERGRATING BIG DATA
ANALYSTICS IN NURSING PRACTICE
 Reduce feature space
 Simple to interpret and implement
 Valid sequential methods for nursing clinical application
 Simultaneous segmentation, detection and classification in a waveform
 Using big data technology can help nurses improve quality care , optimize
outcomes and reduce the cost of healthcare
 Reduce medical errors in nursing
 Enhance patience experiences
LIMITATIONS OF INTERGRATING BIG DATA
ANALYSTICS
 Data reliability-it requires careful analysis ,reliable input data is essential to
avoid duplications and inaccuracies
 Data storage-data is often scattered across many sources from different
teams and departments
 Lack of big analytics skills-big data in nursing gathering ,process and
interpreting huge volumes of data can be a challenge.
 Data quality-organizations need to improve the quality of data before it can
be used effectively
