THE CHALLENGE
Dealing with monkeys interacting with dustbins can pose several
challenges, particularly in urban or semi-urban areas where human
and monkey populations coexist. Some of the problems in such
environments include:
• Scavenging Behaviour
• Environmental impact
• Health & Hygiene Issues
• Property Damage
• Human-Monkey Scuffle
SURVEY
• Total number of Dustbins : 110-120
• Hotspots of monkey activity : Grocery, BC Junction, Residential Area
• Cycle of cleaning: 24 Hours
• What are monkeys afraid of : Security Guards
• Monkey Habits : Swinging the bins, Pulling up lids, Scattering the
garbage and searching for food, Scuffle with anyone approaching
bins in their presence, Not approaching the dustbin in presence of
a guard or human crowd

CONCLUSION
Our minor project endeavors to address the issue of littering caused by
monkeys by designing a specialized dustbin. Through innovative
features and thoughtful design, we aim to create a solution that not
only serves its primary purpose but also contributes to a cleaner and
more sustainable environment. By preventing monkeys from scattering
trash, we aspire to promote responsible waste disposal practices and
foster a harmonious coexistence between humans and wildlife. As we
move forward, we anticipate that our project will contribute positively
to urban cleanliness and wildlife conservation efforts.
