What is
equilibrium?
Static
equilibrium
• Static equilibrium- is
a state where bodies
are at rest.
Dynamic
equilibrium

• Dynamic equilibrium-
is a state where
bodies are moving at
a constant velocity
Conditions:
Object, considered in static equilibrium, should satisfy two conditions:
Translational equilibrium
• The net force acting on the object is zero
Rotational equilibrium
• The net torque acting on the object is also zero

• Torque-is a force that tends to cause rotation
