The Start of Nursing Practice

Promulgation of Act No. 2493 which amends Medical Law (Act No. 310) allowing the regulation of nursing
practice transpired during this period. However, in 1919, the First True Nursing Law was enacted through Act
2808. During this period the Board Examiners for Nursing was also created. The first nursing board examination
was given on 1920. The first executive officer of the Board Examiners for Nurses is a physician.

Educational aims are very important in the process of education because the curriculum of a particular course
is shaped and molded according to the aims of the course. Thus, educational aims help to evaluate both learners
as well as teachers. Furthermore, educational aims keep the teacher and learners on the right track. As a result,
educational aims help to avoid wastage of time and energy. In addition, aims are necessary to have smooth
administration procedures of schools. They help to organize and administer the schools in the best ways.

PHILOSOPHY OF NURSING AND
NURSING EDUCATION
A philosophy of nursing is a statement that outlines a nurse’s values, ethics, and beliefs, as well as their
motivation for being part of the profession. It covers a nurse’s perspective regarding their education, practice, and
patient care ethics. A philosophy of nursing helps you identify the beliefs and theories that shape the choices you make
on the job every day.

Philosophy of nursing education


· Beliefs and values with regard to man in general and specifically man as the learner, teacher, nurse and the client and
the beliefs about health, illness, society, nursing, and learning etc.

· Seeks to study the process and discipline of education in order to understand how it works, improve its methods and
perfect its applications in society.

· To improve education and its systems and methods for the betterment of humanity.

Ideally, it informs and raises the quality of curriculum, teaching methods and the overall educational experience.
