Introduction
 Yetebaberut Food Complex, established in November 2010 on a 2,000
square meter plot of land provided by the Bale Robe City
Administration, swiftly emerged as a key player in Ethiopia's food
production industry.
 Their commitment to producing high-quality flour and macaroni under
the "SELAM" brand quickly earned them a prominent position in the
national market.
 Located in Bale Zone - Robe, a region celebrated for its top-quality
wheat and corn, and with the dedication of around 800 permanent
employees and 200 seasonal workers, the complex has achieved
remarkable success.
 Their recent expansion into biscuit production and plans for a
spaghetti factory demonstrate their dedication to both local
economic development and national growth, making them a
significant contributor to Ethiopia's Economic Development &
Transformation Plan.

Overall benefit of the internship
 During my internship at YFC (Yetebaberut Food Complex), I actively
engaged in various food production operations, gaining practical
knowledge and enhancing my technical skills in the food industry.

Objective of the Internship

 The primary aim of the internship was to acquire practical skills.
 Specific objectives
 Resolving issues encountered in the hoisting company.
 Determining the advantages of practical skills.
 Identifying problems within various machine components.
 Gaining insight into the overall challenges faced within the field.
 Acquiring practical experience relevant to my department or field
of study.

Project

 Statement of the problem

 The company heavily relies on outdated manual methods in
most manufacturing units, leading to potential operational
inefficiencies and delays during emergencies.
 Manual power control across the company presents
significant challenges, especially in cases of emergencies
like fires, where cutting off power depends on human
intervention and reporting to technicians.
 To address these issues, implementing a modern power
control system, potentially through PLCs, would enhance
operational efficiency and safety without incurring the high
costs of a full SCADA system.
Objectives of the project
 The objective of implementing a PLC-based power control system in
the company is to achieve the following goals:
 Improved Efficiency
 Enhanced Safety
 Reduced Downtime
 Flexibility
 Remote Monitoring and Control
 Data Logging and Analysis
 Cost Savings
 Compliance and Regulation
 Integration with Other Systems
 Reliability
