SCOPE AND
Researchers will implement an offline Learning Management System (LMS)
exclusively accessible within the computer laboratory of Senior High School
building of Mataas na Paaralang Juan C. Laya, specifically for the TVL-ICT-
CSS track and strand. The system will provide the following functionalities
for the following:

A.ADMIN:
•Manage user accounts and roles.
•Enroll teachers and students in their respective courses.
b.Teachers:
•Upload learning materials related to the TVL-ICT-CSS strand.
•In terms of Video they can upload up to 25mb
•Create activities and quizzes for students.
•Enroll students in their courses.
•Monitor student progress and performance within the LMS.
c.Students:
•Access learning materials offline.
•Participate in activities and quizzes created by teachers.
•Track their progress and performance within the LMS.

FOREIGN RELATED LITERATURE
Foreign Related Literature
There are many LMS platforms available today, ranging from open-source
platforms to those paid ones. One such platform is MoodleBox a pre-configured
version of the Moodle learning management system (LMS) that is specifically
designed to run autonomously in offline/disconnected environments, an offline
learning management solution designed for implementation in areas with
limited or no internet access. If used together with a small, low-cost computing
device preloaded with the Moodle LMS software and all necessary course
content. Common hardware used for the MoodleBox includes Raspberry Pi or
similar single-board computers (Martignoni, 2023).[6]

Local Related Literature

Moodle is an open-source learning management system that has seen

widespread global adoption since its release in 2002. As one of the top three
most popular LMS platforms worldwide, Moodle currently has over 157,775
active sites registered across 242 countries, with a 18% market share in the
United States and 50% market share in Europe, Latin America, and Oceania. In
the Philippines specifically, there are 1,859 Moodle sites recorded by the
Department of Education, implementing the platform in various universities
and technical schools such as ADMU, UP, TESDA, and others. (Mocon-
Ciriaco, 2020).[7]

Foreign Study

To see the viability of using Moodle, specifically Moodlebox in RPi a study

entitled “A Prototype of Wireless Portable Learning Management System to
Support E-Learning in Remote Area” was conducted. In this prototype, the
researchers used Moodebox platform and RPi to create a portable LMS. The
initial prototype demonstrated the feasibility of implementing a localized
learning management system using MoodleBox and Raspberry Pi. However,
some limitations were identified that require further improvements (Bayuaji et
al., 2022).[14]

Local Study
A study in the Philippines proposed using LMS in senior high school students.
The study employed a descriptive survey to collect user requirements from
3072 stakeholders, including randomly selected principals, teachers, and
students. Findings showed that learning occurred in large classrooms was
deemed unfit by principals and teachers. The study concludes that a customized
LMS for senior high schools is necessary to help make teaching and learning
more bearable, applicable to the modern world, and aligned with the changes of
the Fourth Industrial Revolution by leveraging appropriate technology solutions
(Delos Santos et al., 2023) [18].

RESEARCH DESIGN

The researchers used developmental research to create or

improve new technologies (Zhang, 2020) [22]. Readers can
grasp the researchers' methodical approach by giving this
information. Furthermore, this part emphasizes the research
methodologies, stressing the systematic collection and
arrangement of data to support the study's aims successfully.

DATA GATHERING INSTRUMENT AND
PROCEDURES

The researchers will gather data by using

surveys and questionnaires. The researchers
will create questionnaires that the respondents,
who are the TVL-ICT-CSS students and their
teachers, will need to answer.

SUMMARY, CONCLUSION, AND
RECOMMENDATION

LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR MATAAS NA PAARALANG JUAN C. LAYA TVL-ICT-CSS

SUMMARY
This developmental research aims to create a locally accessible Learning
Management System (LMS) for Mataas na Paaralang Juan C. Laya TVL-ICT-
CSS students and teachers. The researchers conducted interviews to identify the
needs and desired features of the teachers, ensuring that the LMS meets their
specific requirements. They developed a comprehensive system design and
used a Raspberry Pi infrastructure to provide a low-cost, self-contained solution
for offline access to learning resources. The customized LMS effectively
supports individual teaching methods and student engagement, showcasing the
adaptability of open technologies even without internet connectivity.

CONCLUSION

The interviews conducted with the teachers were instrumental in

understanding their needs and expectations for the LMS. The researchers have
used these insights to create a customized LMS that aligns with the teachers'
instructional goals and preferences. The deployment of the LMS using
Raspberry Pi and Moodlebox has provided a reliable and accessible solution for
delivering learning content without internet dependence. This collaborative and
user-centered approach demonstrates the potential of low-cost, open-source
technologies in overcoming resource constraints and enhancing education.
