4. Support to the Formulation of the Philippine National


Adaptation Plan (2023-2050)
(with TA from UK Govt)
● Serves as a comprehensive guide, drawing insights from climate
analytics, adaptation needs, and crucial enablers for effective
implementation
● Targets eight key sectors as focal points for adaptation actions including
among others Agriculture and Fisheries and Food Security, Water
Resources, and Ecosystems and Biodiversity
● Mainstreaming of the NAP-related strategies in the DENR programs to
contribute in its phased implementation

Determined Contribution Implementation Plan

(with TA from ADB)

● DENR CCS and CCC, with assistance from the ADB,


provided technical support for the formulation of NDCIP
● Provided the technical inputs to Nationally Determined
Contributions (NDC) Policies and Measures (PAMs) and
Sectoral Greenhouse Gas Inventories (NGHGI) for Waste,
Industrial Processes and Product Use (IPPU) and Forestry
Sectors
● The NDCIP serves as the blueprint for the Philippines’ NDC,
outlining a comprehensive roadmap and actions across 5
pivotal sectors: energy, transportation, agriculture, waste and
industry. For the DENR, the NDC sectors of focus are wastes
and IPPU.

5. Support to the Formulation of the Nationally
Determined Contribution Implementation Plan

Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Inventory for Waste,


IPPU, Forestry and Other Land Uses (FoLU)
Waste Sector GHG Inventory:
2015→ 23,175.719 Gg CO2e and 2020→
● Prepared Sectoral GHG inventories for the 30,058.996 Gg CO2e, accounting for
years 2015 and 2020 and submitted to the about 12% and 13% of the national
CCC for review and consolidation emissions

● Drafted DENR Administrative Order to


enhance institutional arrangements and IPPU Sector GHG Inventory:
mainstream the conduct of GHG inventories 2015→ 15,598 Gg CO2e and 2020→
particularly in EMB and FMB 17,025 Gg CO2e , accounting for about
8% and 7% of the national emissions
