Introduction
Many individuals in today’s era witness a
common challenge known as the self-
imposter syndrome, where they experience a
persistent sense of not measuring up and fear
of coming out as an impostor, despite their
actual achievements and success.

Background of the Study

• According to Chakraverty (2022), impostor phenomenon is a feeling


of perceived fraudulence some accomplished people have occasionally
or more frequently because they attribute their achievements to luck.

• Parkman (2016) noted that emotional intelligence may worsen


symptoms of imposter syndrome, leading individuals to struggle with
feelings of insecurity and self-doubt despite objective evidence of their
competence.

• This research intends to investigate the prevalence and impact of


self-imposter syndrome on emotional intelligence
among incoming high school graduates.

• It is crucial for enhancing students' emotional intelligence and


empowering them to thrive academically and personally despite
experiencing feelings of insecurity and self-doubt.

Statement of the Problem

Through this exploration, the purpose of this study is to


investigate the negative effects of self-imposter
syndrome on incoming high school graduates' emotional
intelligence and identify potential strategies for
managing the effects of this syndrome.
