Sustainability
 What is sustainability ?
meeting the needs of the present without
compromising the ability of future generations to meet
their own needs.

 In our daily life I have pointed out some common

problem .which is harmful to
human ,animal ,environment and uneconomical .
(not sustainable) hence I am going to suggest some
solution that how we can make it sustainable.
Sustainable problem and solution
1. Kiln Brick while manufacturing
We know that while manufacturing of kiln bricks They
are major contributors to climate change. significant
source of CO2 emissions, greenhouse gas (GHG)
emissions.
 Solution
 Use of fly ash brick instead of kiln Brick
High strength and durability not emission any gases
while manufacturing
Cont…
2. Using of Private transport
Now day most of the people is using there own car .which
they are increase the emission of carbon ,making
environmental pollution , more traffic and also costly
 Solution
 Using of public transport instead of private transport
Less polluted and reduce individual carbon foot print. Can
save your budget (economical) not harm to environment .
Cont…
3. Using of Conventional fuel car
There are five main harmful pollutants caused by
conventional petrol cars that contribute to air pollution,
which are carbon dioxide, Sulphur dioxide, mono-nitrogen
oxide, fine particles, and volatile organic compounds
 Solution
 Using of hybrid electrical car instead of fuel car
Greater Fuel Efficiency
Reduced CO2 Emissions
Less Fossil Fuel Dependency
Cont…
4) PLASTIC WASTE
We know that plastic waste is having many negative impacts
on the environment and human health.
Natural decomposition of plastic can last from 400-1000
years and few type of plastic are non-degradable as well
Many animal clog water way ,ocean , seas , lakes etc
Many animal eat plastic material and die. Over 90% of
seabirds have plastic pieces in their stomach
Plastic causes many fire hazards
Cont…
 Solution
 Recycling of plastic waste
One of the best way to avoid the above problem is recycling
of the plastic waste for example recycling of the plastic into
tiles which we can use it in construction and furniture ,
Reduce a pollution across ecosystem
Requires less energy and help conserve natural resource
Save fast depleting landfill space
Promotes a sustainable life style
Analysis (Execution) of problem one

 Use of fly ash brick instead of kiln brick

Hence we know very well that while manufacturing the kiln
brick significant source of CO2 emissions, greenhouse gas
(GHG) emissions. Major contribute to the climate change.
Irreparably damages the health and well-being of kiln
workers, their families and the surrounding communities
through respiratory and cardiovascular disease. Air pollution
generated by brick kilns results in thousands of premature
deaths annual. since according to the above problem I
suggest solution( use of fly ash brick) that can reduce the
above problem . And it is having economical ,environmental,
and social advantage.
Simple of fly ash brick

 Hence according to the suggested

solution I have made a fly ash
brick. And compare to the kiln
brick .
 Is using of fly ash brick is
sustainable?
 Is using of fly ash brick having
environmental ,economical , and
social advantage over kiln brick ?
 My answer to the above question is
yes . Lets explain
Material used for simple
Materials MIX DESIGN
1. Cement
2. 2. Sand
3. 3. Aggregate
4. 4. Rap (recycled asphalt aggregate)
5. Fly ash
TOOLS
6. 1. Trowels
7. 2. Cutter
8. 3. Gloves
9. 4. Wood saw
10. 5. Blade
11. 6. Mixing tray
12. 7. Screwdriver
MIX DESIGN
 1.1 CEMENT: For this module i used OPC grade 43.
 1.2 SAND: I used in the ratio of 4:1 with cement.
 RAP (RECYCLED ASPHALT PAVEMENT AGGREGATE): Used in
the ratio 1:1 with coarse aggregate. Asphalt and
aggregate-containing pavement materials that have been
removed and/or reprocessed are referred to as reclaimed
asphalt pavement (RAP). When asphalt pavements are
removed for reconstruction, resurfacing, or to get access
to underground services, these materials are produced.
The RAP that we used has been deteriorating in the LPU
civil block storage room for a considerable amount of
time.

Final result
 After getting the final simple of fly ash brick . I come to
know using of fly ash brick is sustainable .
 How?
 While making of this brick I used waste material (recycled
asphalt pavement or construction aggregate , and fly ash)
 By using of this material we can reduce the amount of
waste material in environment
 Less excavation of natural resource.
 While being crushing into smaller particle a large amount
of carbon dioxide is absorbed . Hence that can reduce the
amount of carbon dioxide to the atmosphere.
 Cost saving reduction .in case using of RAPA
