• Social media is one of the most

used products of technology.
• Slang words are any
informal words.
• Expanding vocabulary can
help an individual.

• Growing importance of social media as
part of people’s cross-media habits.
• Some high-toned English words are
morphologically complex.
• Researchers stated that students with a
developed understanding that words are
combinations of meaningful parts tends to
have a better vocabularies than others.

SCOPE AND LIMITATIONS

This study is limited to the

students at (School) as the main
respondents of the study focusing on
the roles of social media to vocabulary
expansion and slang words adaptation.
A total of 80 Grade 10 students were
used as respondents of the study.
 METHODOLOGY
• The researchers used Slovin Formula (the 10% of
the total target population).
• A total of eighty (80) students are used in the study.
• The researchers used a self-made questionnaire:
Part I- consists of questions about the profile
of the respondents such as name, section and gender.
Part II- consists of questions about the
influence of social media to vocabulary expansion
and slang words adaptation of the students.

CONCLUSION
After conducting this study and analyzing the results, the
researchers came up with a conclusion that most of the Grade 10
students from (School) agreed that social media helps them to
expand their vocabulary and slang words adaptation.
RECOMMENDATION
1. Developers should develop some quizzes, games and bots
that can help in testing the vocabulary of their users.
2. Parents should expose themselves more on social media.
3. Teachers should enhance their technique by using slang
words.
4. Students can explore new online companion to enhance and
to develop their vocabulary.
5. Researchers can improve and innovate their research study
through learning new competencies.
