The geographical
situation
Canada's geography is diverse. Occupying almost the
entire northern part of the North American continent,
Canada is the second largest country on the globe.

Canada stretches over a vast territory between the


Pacific Ocean to the west, the Atlantic Ocean to the
east, the Arctic Ocean to the north and the United States
of America to the south.
The
climate
North:
* In most of the territory the climate is
subarctic.

*In the archipelago we find the tundra


climate.

*In the northernmost area, temperatures


drop to -50ºC.

Atlantic:
*Due to the air coming from the sea, the temperatures
are generally more moderate.
West
:
*On the coast of British Columbia, the climate is
moderate oceanic.

*In Alberta we find dry continental climate.

*In Saskatchewan and Manitoba the climate is


continental.

Center:
*Tornadoes form in Ontario.
*In central Canada we find Ontario and Quebec, with a
mostly humid continental climate.
Facts from
history
The first people to live in Canada were the Inuit
and First Nation.

After a while, the country becomes a common point in the


interests of the French and English.

In 1713 a conflict developed between the English and the


French, and England was given full control of Canada by the
Treaty of Paris.

In 1849, Canada was granted the right to self-government,


and the country of Canada was officially established in
1867.
