INTRODUCTION
The manual process requires the operator to both rotate and apply pressure to scrape
out the flesh of the coconut (B.J.V. Mendes, 2020).
Global demand for coconut milk is predicted to increase at a compound annual growth
rate (CAGR) of 6.3% from 2023 to 2033 (Future Market Insights, 2023).
The Philippines is one of the world’s largest producers and exporters of coconuts and
coconut oils, a key ingredient in most cosmetic products, food, cleaning and medical
component.
As such, the coconut industry is one of the major sources of employment generation in
the country (Coconut Statistics of Philippine Coconut Authority, 2020). In 2022, the
production volume of coconut in the Philippines amounted around 14.93 million metric
tons, reflecting an increase from the previous year (Statista Research Department,
2023).

Coconut milk extractor is a device for extracting the coconut milk from its core. This
sets up for the alternative of traditional extraction method using hazardous processes.
Performance of the prototype machine can be tested until the effectiveness and
efficiency reach its full potential.
Though the machine performs at its satisfactory rate, it is still open for revisions and
improvements (e.g. motor power, portability).
