Humanoid robots

• A humanoid robot is a robot with its

body shape built to resemble the
human body.

• Robots having a torso, a head, two

arms, and two legs, are generally known
as humanoid robots .

• Some humanoid robots also have heads

designed to replicate human facial
features such as eyes and mouth.
Features of humanoid robots

• Humanoid robots are especially desirable in

human society as they can work well in indoor
environments that have been designed for
humans.

• The technical characteristics for humanoid robot

are facial expression, walking, speaking and
hearing, body gestures, and vision.
• These characteristics are believed to be
essential in every humanoid robot involved
in education . The attempt to simulate the
human body leads to a better
understanding of it.

• Humanoid robots are especially desirable

in human society as they can work well
indoor environments that have been
designed for humans.
Advantages and disadvantages

Advantages :-

1. In many situations robots can increase

productivity, efficiency, quality and
consistency of products.

2. Robots can work in environments which are

unsafe for humans.

3. Robots don’t have the same environmental

requirements that humans do.

4. Robots have some sensors/actuators which

are more capable than humans.
Disadvantages:-

1. The use of robots can create economic

problems if they replace human jobs.

2. Robots can only do what they are told to do

they can’t improvise.

3. Although robots can be superior to humans

in some ways, they are less dexterous than
humans.

4. Often robots are very costly.

Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence is a wide - ranging

branch of computer science concerned
with building smart machines capable of
performing tasks that typically require
intelligence. AI refers to the stimulate of
human intelligence in machines that are
programmed to think like humans and
mimic their actions.
Forms Of AI

1.Machine Learning

2.Speech Recognition

3.Nature Language Processing

4.Image Recognition

5.Robotics
AI In Robotics

Robotics is a branch of AI, which is composed of electrical engineering, and

computer science for designing, and application of robots . The level at
which humanoid robotics can interact with human is quite limited . This
where Artificial Intelligence is critical. It can help decipher command,
questions, statements and might even be able to give witty , sarcastic
replies and understand random, ambiguous human ramblings . Nowadays,
the robotics market is growing very faster.
CONCLUSION

• Today we find most robots working for

people in industries, factories, warehouses,
and laboratories. Robots are useful in
many ways.

• Using ROBOTS boosts economy because

businesses need to be efficient to keep up
with the industry competition.

• Robots are a good way to implement the

lean principle in an industry.

• Finally, as the technology improves, there

will be new ways to use robots which will
bring new hopes and new potentials.
PURPOSE OF HUMANOID ROBOTS

• Humanoid robots are created for

entertainment purposes.

• Humanoid robots are now used as research

tools in several scientific areas.

• Some humanoids are created to carry out

specific tasks such as the tasks of a personal
assistant using Al, helping out at elderly
homes, and so on .
• Humanoids are also suitable for some
procedurally-based vocations, such as
reception-desk administrators and
automotive manufacturing line workers.

• Humanoid robots, especially those with

artificial intelligence algorithms, could be
useful for future dangerous and/or distant
space exploration missions.
